| About BAD | |
| A
predecessor organization, Pacific Coast Dwarf Car Racing Association (PCDCRA),
was dissolved in 1999 and the new organization, Bay Area Dwarf Car Racing
Association (BADCRA or BAD), was organized in 2000. 2001 was the inaugural
year for BAD - the first official season of competition.
BAD is one of 12 members of the Western States Dwarf Car Association (WSDCA) founded in 1999. WSDCA is recognized as the sanctioning body whose purpose is to unify clubs under a common set of rules; to simplify and encourage competition among clubs. Although once more of a touring club, BAD members now consider Ocean Speedway as their home track. Most points races are scheduled there; some at Chowchilla Speedway and some at Kings Speedway (Hanford). A few BAD members still travel to compete at different racing venues; some travel to participate in regional events and more travel to participate in national events during the season. At the present time, BAD has a roster of about 30 members, including both veteran and rookie drivers. The 2007 schedule includes 16 points races, several regionals, 4 nationals and several non-points races. The leader of BAD is Joe Brechel , former director and officer of PCDCRA. Currently, there is no board of directors. Dave Penny is lead technical advisor assisted by Mike Weaver and Larry Castillo. |
